Well, I've been sick. I think it was the stress of the Sew Mama Sew giveaway day combined with a 60
minute phone job interview, mixed with a 3 year old who had pink eye, topped by a 1 year old who likes to frolic with mommy from 1am to 3am...
Yesterday I crashed.
In bed.
Wish some Austen movies and some stitching.
And here's what I made:
A puffer fish. Guess who chose that theme. Yup, the [bigger] little guy. He'd also like a mermaid, a star fish and an octopus, please. I don't think I have enough sick days in me to be able to complete that order. This might just have to be it. I am now heading over to Feeling Stitchy to enter this little guy in their AWESOME rainbow of stitches contest. Makes for some great Flickr browsing.
At this very moment I am working hard making dinner for a friend who's just had a baby. The Women's club at the University I work at does a "Meals for mom's" service for new families. I'm excited to be bringing my friend Noriko a broccoli quiche and a round of Rhubarb-Strawberry Crumb bars.
Rhubarb Strawberry Crumb bars via Martha Stewart. I recommend adding strawberries too, and more fruit altogether, maybe 2 cups worth total.
And here's a little sneak peek at things to come. A tiny look at my container garden, and an upcoming tutorial on how to up-cycle soda bottles and water bottles into self watering planters. It's so good, I can't believe I haven't been doing this for years!

That dessert looks amazing! I'll have to check that out! Hope you feel 100% soon!
ReplyDeleteMmm, quiche and crumb bars. Can I make an order for delivery, too? : )
ReplyDeleteI'm taking a meal on Friday! Is this by any chance the woman who was in the papercraft group?
Yes - the very same!
